France Where the land feeds both body and soul
Forget about Liberty, Equality, Fraternity, the motto of France is actually history, scenery, gastronomy. Okay, so not officially but that latter threesome is certainly why we love ‘la Grande Nation’. Around almost every corner you’ll find another slice of something delicious, be that a charming town, a stunning view or a mouth-watering dish. From the beaches of Normandy to the heights of Mont Blanc, we know the best places in France and can’t wait to share them with you.

There’s a reason this is the most visited country in the world: France has so much to see and do. From reliving the royal past at the Palace of Versailles to exploring the vineyards of Burgundy, the biggest question is what do you want to do next? We can find you that perfect chateau to stay in or a luxury barge to cruise along the waterways. Plus, the network of TGV high-speed trains means that nowhere is far away.
France facts
In terms of area, France is the largest country in the European Union but its population of around 68 million ranks second behind Germany. For centuries, it was ruled by kings until the French Revolution in 1789 ended the monarchy. Imperial rule made a brief comeback under Napoleon but France is now firmly a republic with an elected president and the capital in Paris. Remnants of the French Empire are the overseas departments, such as Martinique and Réunion.
