A woman floats and relaxes in the Dead Sea in Jordan

This country has a rich heritage, with a modern side. Amman buzzes with contemporary restaurants and boutiques. The country’s size means that the iconic highlights can be combined into a shortish trip; but it’s worth staying longer to discover more. Ask us about taking a trail to the Dana Biosphere Reserve, or a resort on the Dead Sea. Note: trails operate year-round except during Ramadan. Cosa, of course, will advise you on the optimum time to travel.

Jordan facts

Jordan is a constitutional monarchy with a population of 10 million. More than 92% of the population are Sunni Muslims and approximately 6% are Christians. The Dead Sea in the west of the country is the lowest point on Earth. The nutrient-rich minerals of its waters are said to bring health benefits although there are no plants or fish in the sea. By contrast, the Red Sea in the south contains rich marine life offering great snorkelling opportunities.
