UK facts
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. That’s it’s official name (abbreviated to the UK) but it often gets called Britain, even though that’s simply the largest island. Britain itself is divided between England, Scotland and Wales but this isn’t a federal state. It’s a constitutional monarchy with the capital in London, the official home of the King. With over 67 million inhabitants, the UK is one of the largest European countries, although it’s no longer in the EU.
