Pure elegance mixed with island joy
A Cosa event in Cape Verde
This was a client’s anniversary to remember, so Cosa made it a trip to remember – a very special cruise around the Cape Verde islands in the Atlantic Ocean. The 120 guests enjoyed a luxury week-long voyage aboard the French chartered ship, where a wide range of amenities and breathtaking views of the sea never came short. On land, equal attention to detail went into putting together the tailor-made programme: six of the archipelago’s fifteen islands were on the agenda, and they couldn’t be more different.
Highlights
Ship ahoy
A brand new ship, Le Dumont d’Urville, offered excellent cuisine, sumptuous cabins and elegant comfort.
The exclusive use of the ship created a unique family atmosphere and a feeling of community on board.
Infrastructure on Cape Verde is still limited, so the charter ship offered the perfect solution for a little luxury while travelling.
A diverse programme
The route and land activities were tailored to the client’s wishes to get the best from the Cape Verde islands.
Each island is distinct, with contrasting landscapes and experiences. Waking up on a new island each morning is another perk of a private charter.
From thrilling dune drives on Boa Vista to volcanic hikes on Fogo or the sandy beaches of Sal, every day looked different.
Celebrating local culture
Music is the soul of Cape Verde, especially in Mindelo on the island of São Vicente, which is the cultural centre of the country.
To honour the extraordinary vibe this island has to offer, an evening was dedicated to this ever-present cultural flair.
It was an evening filled with colour, art and music, with dancers, singers and a capoeira performance that stole the show. Everyone was swept off their feet – yes, literally.
A memorable trip

Cape Verde isn’t exactly the easiest destination, as the infrastructure is still quite modest. Does this make it a hidden gem? Absolutely! This independent island country off the Atlantic coast of West Africa is fascinating and enriching. If you want to explore its many different facets, it’s best to take a private charter. That way, you’re guranteed a smooth and luxurious journey filled with cultural immersion and wonderful views. Best of all, with a custom-made itinerary, you can enjoy waking up in a new destination each morning.
