The American west is nature at its best
National Parks, USA
Perhaps it’s when you’re watching the bison roam across the vast open space of Yellowstone. Or maybe it’s when you’re standing on the rim of the Grand Canyon. It might happen only once you’re home. But at some point, you’ll finally grasp the sheer grandeur of the scenery on offer in the best National Parks of the western United States. These landscapes truly are incredible. So come with us and go west.
Rock and awe at the Grand Canyon
No matter how many pictures you’ve seen, nothing quite prepares you for the full 3D drama of the Grand Canyon. It’s not just grand, it’s almost overwhelming in size and scope. If standing on the South Rim makes you feel small, wait until you’ve hiked down a little or seen it from the air: you’ll feel tiny – but thrilled.
Bison and geysers in Yellowstone
Amazing scenery and abundant wildlife: America’s oldest and biggest National Park is truly a natural wonder. And we make it even more wonderful. Take a hike with a naturalist guide and end up soaking in secluded hot springs. Or camp out with an expert photographer to see the stars and the animals at their best.
Peaks and falls of Yosemite
Mother Nature puts on her best display in Yosemite. Soaring rockfaces and towering sequoias, gushing waterfalls and lush meadows, all combine to make this California’s most popular National Park. But our local guides know where to escape the crowds for silent contemplation of the Half Dome or relaxing walks to the waterfalls.
Cliffs and walks in Zion Canyon
Early morning and you’re knee-deep in clear water, surrounded by sheer walls of red rock with only a breeze for company. Welcome to The Narrows, one of the most incredible hikes in Zion Canyon. It’s hard work but so worth it. This National Park might be smaller than its grand neighbours, but that makes it more accessible and enjoyable.
Essential National Parks
The United States has 63 National Parks and many of the most popular ones are in the west, particularly California, Arizona and Utah. It all started in 1872 with Yellowstone National Park, which is still one of the most visited. Staying inside the parks is a great experience but the lodges get booked out quickly so plan ahead with us. In the west, the best parks are easy to combine in a multi-day natural extravaganza, so ask us about an itinerary.
